PRINTS

I am interested in layering images from different times and places, to construct an alternate history of a single, imagined place.

Printmaking processes such as lithography allow me to combine photography and hand-drawn elements. This way, I can construct a narrative in a place I've actually been.

Reduction woodcut involves a literal "reduction" in the way one looks at an image. My woodcuts simplify a photographed landscape to its most necessary and meaningful components. To me, this resembles the process of recalling dreams and the past.
