Susanna earned her B.F.A. in printmaking from Cornell University, where she received a scholarship to study art and architecture in Rome, Italy.

After receiving her undergraduate degree, Susanna moved to Chicago, where she worked at the Chicago Printmakers' Collaborative, a studio, print workshop, and gallery. There she organized a collaborative print exhibition with fellow printmakers, and helped maintain the print shop.

Recently, Susanna has received the Len Everett Scholarship, the Lucinda Mendenhall Wilde Award, and a work-study scholarship from Penland School of Crafts. She has exhibited work nationally and internationally, at locations such as New York, Chicago, and Rome.

Since 2009, Susanna has managed the collection at the Iowa Print Archive, a collection of thousands of prints by University of Iowa graduate students, which dates back to 1945. In the future, Susanna hopes to remain engaged with archival processes in both her work and artistic research.
